I am running to be a Climate Justice Commissioner.
Climate justice is the issue of our lifetimes. Currently, there is no climate justice champion on the Multnomah County Board of Commissioners. I will be the Climate Justice Commissioner.
Multnomah county has the opportunity and obligation to be radical on climate and sustainability. That means investing in the county’s ability to provide solutions. It also means ending impunity for polluters and extractive industries.
Ensure that the Climate Justice Plan is implemented, not just adopted and then shelved.
Prioritize equitable clean energy.
Make the county safer for residents.
Hold polluters accountable.

I stand with the members of AFSCME 88 who are asking management to work with them to understand the distinct workplace needs across the county instead of enforcing rigid, across-the-board changes.
As workers, our labor unions are the mechanism through which we get a say in our working conditions. Management side-stepping that process ain’t right. If management will not voluntarily collaborate with the many workers and members of AFSCME 88, who do the actual work of the county on behalf of the people of Multnomah County, it is only right that union members use their power to demand the respect they deserve.”

Now is the time to develop regulations and standards to protect Oregonians’ land, air, and water, to ensure integrity of our energy grid, and to keep costs down for utility ratepayers.”
